Still alive

Havent posted in a while. Classes have been driving me crazy. Midterms and my mass amounts of essays have hit, i got about a week now till it all comes crashing down again. My one History class was really killing me. I had e-mailed her and after 2 weeks i still hadnt heard from her so after class i talk to her and find i'm going in the wrong direction all together. So after a panic attack cos it was due in a week i got it sorted out. I only have one class Fridays so i worked my butt off got all my sources and intro done with the hopes of it being done Saturday and go check our black board to see if my midterm mark for another class was up, and i see an notice that the essay I had been working on so hard to get finished was bumped to a week later. I still finished it Saturday because i had a field trip for Arky which was ok. Two hour bus ride and we watched Temple of Doom and Raiders of the lost Arch.

Other than my crazy school work not much going on. Having some issues sorting out whats going on for Christmas. Dads in Olds, I'm in Calgary and Mums back in my home town trying to sell our stupid house. The only thing we can agree on is my boyfriend is coming. After that its we'll pick in up on the way home on the Saturday before x-mas and then on the 28 Dad has to go back down cos he works and is going to take Iain with him so i'd only see him for a week, not what we had in mind, then i'd fly to Calgary on the 2nd of Jan. I'd go crazy back home with just my mother. no way in hell is that going to happen, but Iain might be getting a car so fingers crossed.

Wake Up Call

It never fails, you stay up late thinking you can sleep in and it doesn't work that way. Stayed up till 11pm because i was watching the Big Brother Finale, which was the best. By the time i got the stuff i needed to do it was 11:30 and it takes me about an hour to fall asleep. No big deal i don't have class till 9. Then at six in the morning i hear this beeping noise. I was like are you kidding me, who the hell is making that noise. About 5 seconds later this automated voice comes on "This is the fire alarm, your building is on fire." So i roll out of bed and go knock on my room mates door, she said it was a drill. So i went pack put some jeans on since my pjs are shorts. So after walking to our meeting site and back i'm so wide awake right now. Terra told me that some other buildings had drills at 2 in the morning last night, so i'll deal with 6 am.
On to Big Brother. Its the one reality T.V. show that i watch every time. I was so happy that Dan one. Out of all of them he was the one who had played the best game, and he had never gone and badmouthed people. Yes he back stabbed and lied, but you cant win in that game if you don't. I was surprised that Dan won by all seven votes. I didn't think that some of the jury members would be able to put what Dan did to them aside and vote for him. Loved this season and cant wait for the next.

Weekends

I cant believe the first week of classes is over, it went by so fast. My Dad came in this weekend to give us the tv he had in Olds. When he goes back home next weekend hes going to bring a bigger tv down. That way we can watch cable on a better screen.
So yesterday i spent most of it shopping. Dad and me found the mall that mum says is five minuets from campus. Thats partially true, if your at the far end of campus which would take me probably half and hour or more to get to. I ended up buying the set of Lord of the Rings Extended versions, and they are really awesome. Theres more character development which i think is necessary to fully understand what goes on.
My reading is for classes is a bit crazy. I got a day planner now so i can keep track of what i have due and when. Classes are a lot of fun. Not looking forward to November when i'm in midterm and essay hell, but then there is Christmas break so it makes up for it.

Year Two

So I've started my second year of post secondary. My third day today and so far it hasn't been that bad. The campus here is huge compared to the last place i was at, but its not that hard to get from one place to another. I'm so excited for my Archeology course. I have about a 5 hour break today so i get to do my laundry thats been piling up.
My room mate is cool. We're in the process of fixing up out living room. Its so bare, no posters, no tv, she got laps yesterday and my dads bringing us a tv on Saturday. The residence here is actually nice, i had heard some bad things about it but what do people know.

no sleep, stress, isnt life fun

If it wasn't for my love of my ipod i would have threw it at the wall last night. What a frigin nightmare. To fix my problem i decided that i should download the newest version of itunes, as it was one of their suggestions. I get it all loaded and up and running but first i decided to back up my itunes music files just for safety. Well when i did that i didn't copy, i moved all the files so when i tried to play music in itunes it told me the files didn't exist. After a slight panic attack i figured what i had done so i fixed it.

Well i go to play my music, you have to reload all the files, 1152 songs. Then i remembered the cheat way to add a folder. Did that without thinking that i should defeat the old stuff because if basically doubled all the songs on there, the ones that had the files and the ones that didn't.

I ended up having to wipe my itunes clean then put the files back in. I forgot the most important thing, my play lists. They were wiped blank when i cleaned out my itunes. I was so pissed. This is what happens when i have no sleep. So after about 2 hours i finally have everything sorted out and dug out my old ipod, which i lucked out because it was in one of the boxes i still had open. I go to bed, mad at my ipod. Then this morning i pick up the ipod thats not working and guess what, it turns on. i wanted to hit it repeatedly with a hammer for all the trouble it caused. I just hope it keeps working

Who doesnt love music? In December after i had talked it over with my parents we agreed that if i wanted a new ipod i could get one. I got one of the new video nanos. I loved it. It held all my songs it was the best thing on the planet, till tonight.
I had just put some new songs in my i-tunes, plugged my ipod in. All loaded up and well. I read for half an hour and go to listen to my ipod, its black, the screen wont come on. I plug it in to charge and nothing, i connected it to my laptop, nothing. I have no idea what they hell is wrong with it and i haven't even had it that long. Thank god i'm going to a city Friday and i can take it in to the ipod store and hopefully they can fix it.

Sure we'll do it today... Oh we'll do it next week....I dont think we'll finish it...

So me and my friend have been working on this story for a while. We came up with the idea about two summers ago. We worked at a Drug Store and it was so boring in the summer. We've also been trying to figure out how to set it it. The idea of a comic didn't really grab us. I figured more around the idea of having random pictures in it. After a long debate we decided we'd figure that out later.

Last year we went to the same college and lived in the same place. We figured that we'd get it done fore sure. Well eight months later and all we had done was a page. I know, its really sad. We decided that by the end of summer it would be done. Take a guess at whats happened hehe.

Today we got together to work on it, as theres a good chance that when i leave for school I'll never come back to this town and we'll never get it done. Once again we didn't do any work on it. I kinda feel like writing though, so i might pick it up and get back to it. I seem to do this with a lot of my stuff. If I take any time off of it, it gets set back and forgotten.

Heres a bit of what we have:

On a Friday, during the late shift, a girl sat in the coffee room waiting for her partner in crime to come. Akila sighed, stretched back and flicked a piece of paper off the table and onto the floor. She glanced around at the fading, striped flowery wallpaper with a stripe of hearts in the middle, equal distance from ceiling and floor. Her eyes narrowed as they followed the lines on the wall. Her eyes wandered over the tiny, yellowing, old fridge that acted as a stand for the unused water cooler. As usual there was a pile of dishes in the sink and spoons from coffee left on the counter. She swept her blue tinted bangs out of her eyes and yawned. A glance at the clock told her she had five minutes to go until her sift began. Akila began to rummage through her pockets to find some gum. At the sound of footsteps she turned to the door.

Crimson walked into the coffee room. “We on till tonight?” She asked while pulling her long curly hair up into a ponytail. She sat down taking the gum Akila offered her.

Akila smirked, “Of course, same as every Friday. Ann and Tasha are supposed to be on the floor,” she tucked the gum back into her pocket.

Panic Mode

In about a week I'm off to school again. Time to start freaking out. I have a fair bit of packing to do still, all of it i know will be done by the time a leave. The main thing thats freaking me out is that i'll probably never be back in this town. I've been here since i was born and i like all the people i hang out with. Its going to be tough saying good-bye to them all.

Time Off

Time off rocks. Nothing is better than catching up on sleep. Two weeks till i go back to school. Most of my stuff is packed for school, just the last minuet stuff to go. I just have to finish packing my bedroom up. I've been informed that if its not done by the time i leave my mother will do it. It just gives her an excuse to snoop through my stuff. So thats basically all i have to do.

Yesterday i went shopping. I took mum out to find her birthday present. I had ordered something online and god what a nightmare. It took three tries to order it because it said there had been an error. Fine get that done, then go look at my credit card online, says i have a holding of $255. The order i placed was $85. Each time the order didn't work they still put a hold on my card. That pissed me off. Not as much as what happened later. Theres a tracking thing for when it ships. I looked at it and it said it had been delivered and was signed for. Sent the customer service a e-mail, and turns out the entirely wrong address was put on the package, it went to some women in Halifax. Gave them my correct address again and asked how long it would take to get to me now. Thursday night i still hadn't heard back, so Friday i called. The girl said shed call the warehouse then call back. So as i had to go to work i told my mum to call me after they did.
Three and a half hours at work and nothing, so i called mum and she said they hadnt called. I took my break at work and called them. Ended up canceling my order i was so pissed. Now i have to wait for them to reimburse my mastercard, its such a pain in the ass. What did i learn? Never order from them again.

Its a day

Some of my friends are doing this so i thought I would give it a shot.

Right now I'm currently in the process of moving. Only bad thing, the market here is far beyond crap. Theres over 100 houses on the market and the towns only about 4000 people. The house has been on for a week, no lookers yet. I just finished my job for the summer, back to school in two weeks. Dad left for his new job today. Its about a 10 hour drive and he starts monday. My mum's staying here until our house sells, which could be a while.

I'm pumped for school in the fall. Second year University student. It should be a lot of fun.
